When the mod shows up as incompatible in the game and with that yellow “warning” border, it means it didn’t load correctly.
Mods from ModFy only work when ModFy is installed and logged into an account that has permission to use the mod—that is, a ModFy account linked to the store account where you purchased the license to use the mod.
There can be several reasons for this—let’s go through them here.
The main reasons this error appears are:
- ModFy isn’t installed correctly, with its service running.
- Your ModFy is logged out of your account.
- The account logged into ModFy doesn’t have permission to use that mod—that is, your ModFy account isn’t connected to a store account where you have the mod license.
- Your computer has no internet connection at the moment (soon it won’t be necessary to stay connected all the time to use mods through ModFy, Offline Mode [coming soon]).
- Your game isn’t original—ModFy only works with the original game running through the Steam platform.
- Your game isn’t running in 64-bit mode; if you have any Steam setting forcing the game to 32-bit, it won’t work.
- Some command-line/config settings in the game can cause incompatibility, for example “–force_mods”; this should be fixed in the future.
These are the main reasons the mod may appear incompatible in your in-game mod manager. If everything above is correct, it’s still possible there’s some system instability or a bug—contact Support for assistance.
